Custom Illuminated Built-Ins & Bar
A+V Design Group partnered with designer Calvin Watt to create a series of custom built-ins across several spaces in this Snellville home. Each installation incorporated custom lighting details, bringing the cabinetry and illumination together as part of a coordinated interior design.
Design Brief
The goal was to introduce highly tailored built-ins into existing rooms, with a finished appearance that felt original to the home. The scope also included a substantial downstairs bar, fabricated as one continuous piece approximately nine to ten feet long.
Design Challenge
Working within pre-existing spaces meant that the shelving and cabinetry had to be custom-fitted to the home’s architecture. The downstairs bar presented a particular challenge: integrating a large, single-piece element so that it looked as though it had always belonged there.
Results
We coordinated with Calvin Watt and the project’s specialist lighting team to bring the built-ins and their lighting details together. Careful fabrication and fitting were central to achieving a seamless relationship between the new work and the existing rooms. Completed over approximately one month, the project introduced illuminated built-ins across the home and a custom downstairs bar with an integrated, established appearance. The finished work reflects the value of close collaboration between interior design, custom fabrication, and lighting specialists.
